Over a series of days in 2019, Mark and Forageplus would love you to be part of an exploration and observation of hoof health and the way that hoof anatomy and dissection of a horse’s lower limb can take us on a ‘journey’ from the exterior hoof to the internal structure of the foot. This journey will lead to a greater understanding of both lower limb health and pathology.
The courses have been arranged to provide an experience for a small group or indvidual dissection and will cover:
There is no need for any prior knowledge so the clinic will be suitable for anyone with an interest in horses, but professionals and vets will find Mark's unique knowledge on how hoof anatomy dictates how prevention and treatment of lameness can be affected very useful.

Firstly, these clinics are mainly about anatomy & its function so not much can happen without horse legs.
Often people have said to me, "oh I'm not sure how I would feel about seeing a dead horses leg"?
All I can say is you don't have to sit too close if you really don't want to. You could even sit outside in your car, or in the pub across the road. But in truth my experience is that the subject becomes increasingly more fascinating as the day goes on & most people become more & more involved. Glad to be taking advantage of the opportunity these clinics provide.
The clinics are informal & are not over subscribed with an attendance being limited to no more than 12 participants. I want people to gain the maximum benefit from the experience. By being able to clearly see the subject & to be able to ask as much as they wish. Again, there is no one who will make you touch, but so many of us get a far greater perspective & understanding by handling the different structures under guidance.
Clinics are held at the village of Whitfield in Northamptonshire, just off the A43 near Silverstone (See Map) Individual clinic details will be posted separately, including cost, booking & other advice as necessary (See Clinics)
